The Sierra 2500 HD Crew Cab returns for 2005 with minimal changes to the interior and exterior. It is available in eight models: Work Truck, Base, SLE, and SLT trims in either 2WD or 4WD configurations. GM offers several engine and transmission combinations, including two gasoline V-8 engines and one turbocharged V-8 diesel. Four transmission options are available, including an Allison five-speed automatic transmission and a six-speed manual transmission. Optional packages include a Trailering Special Equipment Group, a Skid Plate Package, and a Snow Plow Package. Optional interior features include leather seating, reclining bucket seats, and a premium sound system with Bose speaker system, amplifier, and subwoofer.

Z71 SLT much better than SLE.

Pros : 4WD works great and ease of use. SLT trim is nice.
Cons : SLE trim is cheap. 4:10 gears are a waste. Ext cab windows
Review : I owned both trim models in 2005. Both trucks came with the 5.3L motor. The SLT came with 3.42 axles
The Bottom Line : I would own a crew cab Z71 SLT trim model. I would stay away from the extended cab and the SLE trim.

The Bottom Line : Aesome truck! it has a lot of capabilities, and you can seat 4 comfortably, the towing capability is wonderful, and lots of standard options.

Pros : Style, Comfort, On-Star, Performance, ride, handling & overall capabilities.
Cons : Turning radius, wind noise at speed, & no bed security (tailgate lock).
Review : I purchased this vehicle new in July of 05, and have lived with it for 18 months now. Why did I buy
The Bottom Line : As an all round vehicle it excels. To avoid wind noise at highway speeds, don't pick the extended cab. Try it, if you like trucks, this is for you.
